This Sunday I will be performing at the Carnegie Main Library in Oakland from 2pm to 3pm. I will be performing Flamenco plus giving a background on each style that I perform. Flamenco at Alma Restaurant on Wednesdays 6-8pm
I will be performing on Wednesday nights from 6-8pm at Alma Pan Latin Kitchen, 412-727-6320, on the corner of Forbes and Braddock avenue in Point Breeze. Alma is a great new addition to the Pittsburgh Restaurant scene and they have a fantastic menu like no other in Pittsburgh. I play on the Cantina side where you can sit back with a beer or select from there wine menu as well as a great Cantina menu as well as the restaurant menu. You will be well taken care of with great food and great music. See you all there.
Fiesta Flamenca 12/10/11 At Zafira Studios
Hey Flamencos Come out and enjoy a night of Flamenco and fun with Alba Flamenca and the Students of Carolina Loyola- Garcia. It should be a great night of passion and arte so bring your dancing shoes and get in the Flamenco Groove and of course we will keep the music nice and intense to take away the December chill. I hope to see 
Carnegie Mellon Guitar ensemble Shows
I am so happy to announce that I will be performing with the Carnegie Mellon Guitar ensemble this fall. We have some exciting shows coming up including a special Performance on Oct 8th with Guitarist Ben Verdery where we will perform his composition “Scenes from Ellis island” at the end of his solo recital concert. This is going to be so much fun for the piece is for 12 guitars. The CMU Guitar ensemble will also have two more concerts this fall. On October 18th, there will be a concert of solo and ensemble guitar music and the 30th of November the CMU Guitar ensemble will perform again with various solos and ensemble pieces. All performances will be at 8pm in Bellefield hall except The solo concert of Ben Verdery which will be performed at Kresge Hall. I am so looking forward to the new experiences that are about to come about and I will send more info as Time gets near.
Poeta in New York at the Kelley Strayhorn Theater 9/30/11 and 10/1/11
Poeta in New York is coming to Pittsburgh and I will be performing on both nights in a pre performance mixer from 7:30 pm to 8pm and a special post show performance mixer from 10pm-11pm. Frederico Garcia Lorca is very connected to Flamenco and Anfalucia and I am very proud to be supporting a great work of art that is Poeta in New York.
Hispanic Heritage Month Showcases Alba Flamenca
It is Hispanic Heritage month and Alba Flamenca is going to be busy sharing the “duende” with western Pa. We will be performing at Penn state Altoona on 9/14/2011, Penn State Dubois on 9/19/11 and at CCAC south Campus in West mifflin on 9/28/11. All show times are at noon except the performance in Dubois which will be at 7pm. These performance will be educational as well as entertaining and they will help the audience form a connection to what is Flamenco and how it fits in a cultural context. Alba Flamenco takes full responsibility for anyone who falls head over heels with Flamenco.

To the the final days of summer, Flamenco Alba Bringing Flamenco to the Barrios of Pittsburgh. Our first show will be on Friday the 26th of August at Mendelson Gallery in Shadyside. We are there to Support artist Luis Castellanos Valui from Mexico in his show of “Forty years of Painting in Mexico” The gallery will be open from 6pm till 10pm and Flamenco alba gets going at 8pm.
Then on Saturday the 27th Flamenco Alba will be in the barrio of uptown and we will take place in the annual uptown festival. There will be food, art and lots of music through the day and we go on at 3:00pm. The festival will start around noon and it usually lasts until the lights go out so stick around and keep the party going.
So come and enjoy the nice cool evening breezes, the great flamenco sounds and feast your eyes on the great international art, there is much more to come. Saludos a todos.

A new video popped up on my radar, 6 months late, but hey it was a real treat to see this video for we thought no one took the time to document. Just a little background:
Victor Ruiz has been a resident in Pittsburgh for about 10 years and he has been a true musical mentor for me as well as a real good friend. He is from Mexico City originally but his heart belongs to Jazz. Victor asked me to perform with him for The Coro Latinoamericano winter recital and I jumped at the chance. We performed that night with the coro and we celebrated Latin America in the best way possible, through Music. please enjoy.

I will be performing on Saturday may 21st with Flamenco alba and Carolina Loyola-Garcia along with the Great Zafira dance Company in celebration of the studios one year anniversary. It shall be a great night, unless the world ends, but hey wouldn’t you want to dance your way into the afterlife. So come out and believe in Zafira, Flamenco alba, dance, music and humanity.
